Dhruva Aliman
In 2013 I was commissioned to create a logo for musician Dhruva Aliman based on a sketch he provided. This hand drawn logo consists of 75 layers. He still actively uses this asset on his YouTube, Amazon, Facebook, & websites.
Peace Pods
This image was created for a Photoshop theme contest: Peace. It consists of hand-drawn symbol vectors with texture overlay on a brush & smudge painted background to simulate watercolor painting.
Misfit Squirrels - Acorns Shrugged
This logo was painted for MisfitSquirrels.com, an online digital arts community I founded in 2010. It adorned the home page thru 2014. A link to artist galleries is found in the "What is GbyP?" option on main menu.
What's Supe, Doomsday Squirrel?
Running a site called Misfit Squirrels planted the bushy-tailed critters firmly in my head. This image was painted for a Photoshop theme contest: animal superheroes. I enjoy painting animals so I have a large collection of specialized fur brushes.
Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Squirrel
You know you have a tough rep when werewolves fear you. This image consists of only 2 layers with a hint of red added; it was created by negative painting on a layer mask of a solid black layer revealing an off-white layer beneath. Fun!
Spidorilla
You know the theme song: "Spidorilla, spidorilla... does whatever it wants!" This creepy hand-painted image was created for a Photoshop contest theme: combine 2 or more species.
Blue Terror
This image was created for a Photoshop contest theme: Blue. A buff variation on Kraken from the deep deep blue sea. The biggest challenge was drawing the ship; straight lines allude me. :)
Finding Jabberwock
"It's getting Wocky out here." This image was created for a Photoshop contest theme. A parody of that Animal Planet "Finding" show, hand-drawn characters & dragon in a layer mask painted forest.
Gossamer Bugs Me
This was the winning image for a marketing company Halloween poster contest! Company text stripped out to protect the innocent. Characters hand painted over layer mask painted forest.
D@#n Bear!
This image was a comical take on a possible '80s Bigfoot roadside sighting. It features Ed Roth (CarToon) character & Honda CRX styling. The hardcore skeptic then spoke the common mantra: "It's just a bear." Now... he's not so sure. ;)
Cryptic Life - Ready for your Close-up, Patty?
Musings from a "Down the rabbit hole" period when I sought alternative art experiences. I created eyewitness account art for an investigation team lead by biologist Michael Merchant (later featured on a 2014 Bigfoot reality TV show). Hand-painted facial close-up of "Patty" from the 1967 Patterson-Gilman Bluff Creek CA sighting. An 8mm film still being evaluated and debated today.
